Designing the plan page
February 26th, 2010
Our design crew has been busy creating a beautiful draft of the plan page. This is the meaty part of whataplan that will present each of your wonderful plans. Important components are:
- a freely editable plan description
- plan details showing address and displaying it on a map
- the ability to like, dislike and share the plan
- uploading pictures
- ability to comment on plans
- suggestions of nearby plans and other plans that you might like
You will see on the right hand side that you can see which of our fellow planologists (users) also liked the plan opening up the floor for some interaction with like minded users. Yes please!

will you have spam protection? (re: freely editable plans!)

E*, thanks for your comment. Yes, Spam is a risk. We hope to be able to mitigate it by employing the famous Three-Pronged Whataplan Anti Spam strategy (TPWAPAS):
1. Only registered users can edit plans freely
2. All user entries on WAP are screened for spam keywords and moderators will be notified immediately.
3. The free editing is based on a wiki principle – so if someone spams it, other users will be able to roll-back to a previous version.
Clearly, this is not a perfect anti Spam strategy but we’re hopeful that it will work (at least during the launch phase)
